MCC faced St. Charles in the NJCAA Sub-Regional round.
Game 1
The Wolves struck first, manufacturing a run on a sacrifice fly by Jude Greaves. St. Charles answered in the third inning with a sacrifice fly of its own before taking control of the game with a power surge. The Cougars hit a three-run home run later in the third, followed by a solo homer in the fourth and a two-run blast in the fifth.
MCC responded in the fifth with an RBI single from Luke Meredith. Brandon Moore added a solo home run, and Eden Myers contributed an RBI double as the Wolves attempted to rally. However, the Cougars' offense proved too much, as St. Charles scored in every inning after the second to secure the Game 1 victory.
Game 2
Looking to force a decisive third game, MCC found itself in a tightly contested pitchers' duel early on, as neither team scored through the first three innings.
St. Charles broke through with one run in the fourth and added four more in the fifth to build a 5-0 lead. The Wolves answered in the sixth, plating three runs to cut the deficit to 5-3. After the Cougars added an insurance run in the seventh, MCC pulled within two in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Moore.
The Wolves mounted one final rally in the ninth. Carson Schmidt drove in a run with an RBI groundout to bring MCC within one, but the comeback fell just short as the tying run was left stranded at third base, bring MCC's season to an end.
